We recently cleared an area of overgrown blackberries at a residence near Nanaimo. The homeowners had done a great job of removing Scotch Broom from a large area of their property, and the native plants and grasses returned. They had removed a large amount of blackberries as well, but thought that they might give the goats a try. The herd got to work and over a couple of days munched their way through blackberries, salmonberries and thistles. The residents were happy and so were the goats! Alex’s debut was stellar, and he is a welcome addition to the crew.
