  • Celebrating Earth Day

We will be journeying to Esquimalt, near Victoria, this week (April 18-21) to once again help with the Earth Day celebration held annually at High Rock Park. Students from the area come to the park and help with various activities, including tree planting, trail mulching and removing invasive plants. Our job is the help to dispose of these plants the way we do best; by eating them! We hope for sunny weather, but the event goes rain or shine, and there are other interesting displays on site. If you’re in the area, please come by and say Hi.

  • Blackberries vs Goats

We are looking forward to this coming Sunday, April 10, when we will be doing a demo at the Lighthouse Community Centre in Qualicum Bay. Every month the community hosts a Second Sunday market and pancake breakfast, and we will be there working near the hall to clear off some 8000 sq. ft. of overgrown blackberry and salmonberry plants. The best part? Pancake breakfast for the humans! If you are in the area please come by and say hi. We plan to stay until the job is done. https://sites.google.com/site/lighthousecommunityhall/pancake-breakfastIMG_2805
